On the difference between anhydrous magnesium sulfate and anhydrous sodium sulfate drying

Anhydrous sodium sulfate has the advantages of weak drying capacity (degree) and slow speed. It has the advantages of high water absorption, low price, large particles and easy treatment. Due to its stable nature and strong water absorption capacity, it is a slow acting neutral desiccant. Commonly used in laboratories;

Anhydrous magnesium sulfate has stronger drying ability and faster speed. The powder is fine and belongs to weak acid drying. It does not react with organic matter. Organic substances such as esters can be used to dry aldehydes, nitriles and amides. Both are weak desiccants, The water absorption is very large and suitable for preliminary drying. If the requirements are high, a stronger desiccant needs to be used for deep drying. Strong desiccants usually have low water absorption, which is only complementary.
